Helsinki Metal Meeting taking place during Feb 17.-19. has announced more bands on its already impressive roster. Finnish industrial metallists TURMION KÄTILÖT, up and coming FOR THE IMPERIUM along with CORRODED from the neighbouring Sweden and ZEROSCAPE from Canada have all been added to the bill at the Finnish Metal Expo, in the Cable Factory. More bands will be added to the line up.

FINNISH METAL AWARDS will again reward the best Finnish metal of 2010 in seven categories, voted by the public. The awards gala will take place at the Finnish Metal Expo on Saturday Feb 19. The voting is now active at www.imperiumi.net/fma.

Tickets for Finnish Metal Expo are now on sale at www.lippupalvelu.fi and www.tiketti.fi.

We sell one day tickets only. Tickets cost 35 euros in advance and 40 euros at the door (if not sold out). Possible ticket agency fees will be added to the advance ticket price.

Along with FME-tickets, there are now special prized 3-day tickets available for TUSKA OPEN AIR METAL 2011. Limited edition available until the end of the year at Tiketti and Lippupalvelu.

– SYMFONIA – World Premiere 18.2. at the Finnish Metal Expo
– SUOMI METAL STAR – band contest by CENTURY MEDIA

Helsinki Metal Meeting taking place during Feb 17.-19. has announced more program. Finnish Metal Expo at the Cable Factory will get to witness the world premiere of SYMFONIA, the new melodic metal act featuring TIMO TOLKKI, ANDRE MATOS, ULI KUSCH, JARI KAINULAINEN and MIKKO HÄRKIN. The recordings of the SYMFONIA debut album will start in November at Studio Mega in Sweden. The debut will be released in spring 2011.

More additions to the Cable Factory program will be made for both days. See the current line up at http://www.fme.fi.

On Saturday Feb 19, CENTURY MEDIA will seek out the next big thing in Finnish metal, as the finals of SUOMI METAL STAR –band contest take place on the Valssaamo Stage. Four bands qualified for the finals will battle it out for a prestigious CENTURY MEDIA recording contact in front of a jury consisting of members from Century Media, Terrorizer Magazine, Inferno Magazine and Tuska Festival, to name a few.

The seventh annual Finnish Metal Expo, the main event of Helsinki Metal Meeting is running over the Cable Factory on Feb 18.-19. This is where more than 50 operators in the metal music industry showcase their latest products and services in the exhibition area and the hottest metal phenomena take the stage. The live shows will be provided by the likes of ACCEPT, TRIPTYKON, SABATON, MYGRAIN, DEATHCHAIN as well as new comers THE MAN-EATING TREE, DREAMSHADE and BATTLE BEAST. More additions to the Cable Factory program will be announced shortly.

The Finnish Metal Awards gives the public the chance to vote the best of Finnish metal in 2010. The voting begins on Dec 1. at http://www.imperiumi.net/fma.  The FMA-gala will be held at the Cable Factory on Saturday Feb 19.

In addition to the consumer aspect of the event, the Industry Day gathers the metal industry people from all over the world. The Industry Day will be held at the VIRGIN OIL CO. one of the main music venues in the very center Helsinki on Thursday Feb 17. Topics and guest speakers will be announced soon.
